Diego Battista
Diego Battista, also known as Batti, is one of the most important young designers of the Argentina design scene. Battista is most famous for his well-known Placentero Chair, which he developed working for Brion Studio. Battista naturally became a designer when he found a way to develop his art activities from a commercial point of view.
Battista enjoys all the steps in the design process in different ways. Each step has something interesting and develops the investigation and learning. As he comes from an arts formation in all those stages he can work with the drawing, the sculpture, 3D modeling, painting, photography and music in the cases where this form of expression can be added to finish the concept of the chosen thematic.
Battista does not label or define his work. He prefers not to tie his work to anything and thinks that it is always possible to continue investigating about ourselves. He believes by doing this, he avoids the fashions and the formality. When he was working in Brion Studio he chose "gestation" as a theme that forced him to design with organic forms and messages of introspection considering that today the tendency by aesthetics and constructive convenience is minimalism and straight forms.
Diego Battista is currently building the department of design for the furniture company Battista, and in parallel working on ideas and his own designs to materialize and exhibit them. For the past 6 years, He has also had a relationship with Brion Studio that continues betting on his work.
