The Eames Lounge Chair is a classic modern reproduction of the original chair that was created by Charles and Ray Eames in 1956 that made its public debut on Arlene Francis' Home show, which later became the Today show. The Eames Lounge Chair debut in 1956 on NBC was a great introduction for the chair. Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2006, the Eames Lounge Chair is recognized as one of the most distinguished pieces of 20th century design. Charles Eames said his goal for the chair was the "warm, receptive look of a well-used first baseman's mitt." The Eames Lounge Chair features a molded plywood frame and is available in Medium Walnut and Rosewood finishes. The Eames Lounge Chair also includes rubber shock mounts, aluminum swivel base, and full Italian leather.
