Geoffrey Lilge
Geoffrey Lilge, Randy McCoy, and Daniel Hlus came together because of a shared love and respect for design. Forming their company, Pure Design, in 1994 they produced their first product - metal CD racks - by hand. Their goal was a diverse and unique collection that challenged traditional furniture categories and created new ones. Their philosophy lies within the individuality of their designs, and collectively their style emerged. Within three years of the company's formation the partners were overseeing 30 employees and a product line of 75 different 2001 Alumni Horizon Awards accessories. Pure Design products have been featured on the set of Ally McBeal, a Janet Jackson pop video, a Steven Spielberg film, and in the 2001 Alumni Horizon Awards of collectors who love Pure Design's upbeat, liberal approach to design. In May of 2001, Pure Design was awarded the prestigious Editors Award for Furniture at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York City.
Geoffrey Lilge left the team in 2002, and Randy and Dan sold the production and distribution part of Pure Design in 2005, but all are currently doing independent design work in Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA for companies such as Offi & Company.
