Jesus Gasca (1939-)
Jesús Gasca was trained as an engineer and furniture designer. He founded Stua, a contemporary furniture company in the 1983. The company, based in San Sebastian, Spain produces Scandinavian/Mediterranean furniture using only the finest materials. Stua is very proud of their environmentally green approach to manufacturing and their use of recycled components. As Stua’s head designer, Gasca is known for his technically superior designs and his attention to detail. His designs are described as elegant and timeless.
Some of Gasca's recent notable designs include the Globus Chair, Gas Chair, Milano Table, Sapporo Shelving System, Zero table and the Deneb Collection. He won the Innovate Design Melbourne prize in 1988 for the Egoa chair.
